Just going to add if you plan on upgrading anything with your audio system. Go with the base model and get a nice aftermarket nav head unit.

How about if you own a Nismo model (base audio system, with only 2 front speakers, no rear speakers at all) and want to keep a stock look... Is it possible to get the Navigation system that comes in the Nav package of a Touring 370? Has anyone with either a base model or Nismo model done this conversion yet? Is it even possible?

Yes you can keep the nav system if you went that route. But it is a pain to upgrade. Here is a link sense it has been discussed before. You still would have to use a JL clean sweep for controlling the levels before going to the amps and all.

It is just a lot easier to start from the ground up, with he base system.

From what I've read so far, no, the Navigation system available to 370z Touring models and Infiniti models is NOT available to convert into a base or Nismo 370z. For the price, even if you could, you're better off getting an aftermarket nav HU like the Kenwood, Pioneer, Clarion, or Eclipse units.

There are, however, aftermarket LCDs that can be installed in place of your "storage compartment" cover, and they look pretty decent. A couple threads will turn up in a search for it.

Thats exactly what I'm in the mood for. I was able to find one such thread but that was some Japanese mod, haven't found anyone in USA specially NY install aftermarket stuff on the storage bin area. Would be great if I can get more info on that.
