Default Factory Nav - Video Bypass

Has anybody heard of a successful bypass of the external video input while in motion on the factory nav?

Seen several threads but no real answer.

I am looking at a possible carputer or digital gauge kit that needs external input. Not looking to play movies while driving

Much appreciated. I did a bit of searching but didn't look for g37 guides. That should be the tip I need.

Tried this today. IT DID NOT WORK..... Not sure if I did something wrong or not, but I put it back to stock. One thing I have read is that if you disable the VSS and you have the factory Nav unit. The nav unit will not work the way it is suppose to. Seems it use the VSS and the GPS to know where you are. I'm done until Nissan comes out with something. I really hate cutting wires behind the dash.

Nav folks should just buy the KPTech unit to get it over with...

Talked to KP already they aren't sure it will work with the 370.

Yea I should have posted about that I made a thread with the pics of that install but if you do the mod there are 2 things that happen. 1 you can watch video but the nav won't refresh your vehicles location quickly there will be a delay. 2 you can use the controls and buttons while moving but you won't get video while in motion depends on how you hook it up and ground it.

KP was looking for a Z to test contact them they said they would hook up the test vehicle.

Like I said i've talked to KP they have a beta tester program. You pay full price, you7 then have 30 days to do the install with complete write up and pic's. That must be filed back to them. Then they will refund half price.

Well why dont you run that wire(vss) to a switch. When u want nav, have the switch closed and when your going to video, flip the switch to the open position.

I have read from other Nissan forum that KP kit still requires wire cutting. There is a company called Prestigious Society (Override GPS navigation | Lexus | Toyota) and they are specializing plug n play navigation and video override for Lexus and Toyota. Seems like they are looking for Nissan vehicles to test their Nissan application. Hope this helps.
