Bose Confuses Me
So here's the deal..
I have previously owned an 04 350z that had the touring package with the bose system, and I thought that the system sounded pretty good. Not AMAZING.. but definitely good, and something that I could live with I then purchased an 04 Audi S4 that had a bose sound system in it and I thought it sounded good as well, and I enjoyed listening to it My current car is an 09 Cadillac CTS that has bose and I personally think it sounds HORRIBLE!! I do not understand how the same brand can sound so terrible in some cars and good in others |
It's all about how much the manufacture gives them for a budget...

Pretty much any factory system is junk.... My wife has a Beats system that came in her Charger... It sounds ok but not amazing...

Remember that the car manufacturer's license the use of the brand name(Bose, Infinity, JBL, etc...), but are free to build the system as they see fit. It's all about profit over quality. I always gut the factory system and replace with quality aftermarket.

there are many factors involved. too many to list here, and a true comparison can never be made (technically) among the more obvious is speaker locations, and eq settings. Among the less obvious would be resonant frequencies of interior panels, and ratio of cloth to plastic/and or leather used in interior appointments, and angles of interior surfaces. All would contribute to sound reflections, and affect soundstage and the like.

While there are bound to be differences from car to car (RonRizz gives a nice Q&D explanation above), I don't think it would be "definitely good"/"HORRIBLE" different. I have to wonder if there is not a problem with the stereo. I'd look first at the speakers and make sure they are all functioning correctly.

Can one amp from Nissan/Infiniti be used on another? Say amp from a 370z to a g37 or is power regulated from the head unit?
|
If no one comes up with an answer, the 370Z pinouts are in the FSM (link in my sig). I'm assuming there is an FSM out there for G37s with the same info but I don't know where to get it.
|
I cant answer that with 100% certainty, but I would bet $ that you could. I have swapped an amp in an old Chrysler for a friend from a different model, and although the plugs didn't match up, we simply made an adapter harness. (of course you'll need wiring diagrams of both models)
