Default Which Aftermarket Speakers fit?

I'm looking to replace my 14' base stereo system with an Alpine Double dIN and install new speakers. I was wondering what size speakers fit in the doors on my 2014 Sport coupe Z?

I'm looking at Hertz hi energy 5 1/2" & 6 1/2" speakers for the doors and some tweeters for the dash.

anyone use 6 1/2" in the doors without having to cut or fabricate?

Thanks,
Cam

That's great, thanks!

your setup looks awesome, how do you like the Hertz 165's? Did you add an amplifier?

The hertz are the best I've ever owned, by far, and I've gone through MANY of the top brands... The low end and the mid bass punch are beyond belief.
I have an additional set of tweeters in the a pillars, and a 13" sub in the rear.
2 amps totaling 1400 or so watts, but the speakers do not see all of that power.
The hertz sets are power hungry. the more you feed 'em, the better they sound.

I too love the hertz, I would recommend running the tweeters in the factory locations.

Agreed. Much better sound stage with tweeters in the dash location. Low mounted tweeters will get blocked by legs and such.

Some of the Best sound quality cars in both IASCA and MECA Use both the woofers and the tweeters in the kick panels, or in special pods made for the kick panel area. The idea is that is the spot where the speakers are closest to equidistant to your ears, so less processing is required to set sound stage. (its true, measure it.)
That being said, you do need, of course a manner of processing to overcome the location.
There are a million possibilities...do what suits your taste. A good way to get a feel for your tweeter location is to wire up your woofers in the doors, and leave a long wire connected to your tweeter. Using some double back tape, or Velcro, move the tweeter around to a few locations you pre-determine, and listen to them in each. Put them where you think they sound best.
