finally all new audio
just got some stuff installed at pure audio in Naples.
Speakers: hertz DSK165.3 component pic from online http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/09/ava8egyt.jpg Head unit: pioneer AVH-X4600BT http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/09/bu6epeje.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/09/y6y2a9ag.jpg Sub and box: JL CS110LG-TW3 http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/09/yganaja5.jpg Amp: jl audio e1400d monoblock http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/09/ama6a8e8.jpg it's a perfect setup for me, nothing too crazy but just enough. the head unit is awesome, 7" screen and dose way more then i need but mostly it looks clean. the sub hits plenty hard for how small an compact it is at 400rms. speakers sound very good, I'm no expert but not harsh or too bright. all in all I'm I'm very happy with everything |
Sweet.

Very Nice! How hard do the lower notes hit on that little thing?
I just got myself Nismo and I currently have a 12" Type R in a massive box (taken from my old car). I have it there temporarily until i find a 10" Sub or a preloaded sub in one of those pick-up truck boxes so i can lay it down. Also, what shift knob is that? Are you on a short shifter or oem? Does the shift knob get hot during the summer? |

it's amazing, sometimes I look back an forget its not a 12. I researched this sub alot!! pretty good all around sub and it hardly takes up any space. it hit's damn hard on deep bass i even have the gain turned down a little and on 4 out if 6 on the head unit (depends on the song tho. but like I said I'm no expert I just read an watched all the reviews online. I couldn't be happier! shift knob is the sphere from lathe werks, he is a really good guy! he can do anything u want it threads on very low I also did a little customizing and if ur interested I can go into greater detail for u on how to get the owm shifter low with that knob I just didnt like the way the twm short shifter felt. this sits just as low and the knob weighs 500 grams. he can customize the know however u want. best costumer service ever it can get hot if I don't use the windshield shade. been thinking of getting it powder coated wrinkle black the to help with the heat but I kinda like the way it looks so ill wait until it gets all scratched up to do that. it's not that bad tho. |
nice, op!
|
btw, check out how to make your shift knob finisher out of ballcockshank washers.
|
yeah I have one of those and another finisher I got grime somewhere else buy I don't like how it looks with the sphere on top of the finisher.
my old setup: http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/10/ynu5ezum.jpg but that finisher doesn't look good on the sphere. right now I'm using the soda bottle method lol |
I can put it on later to show u what it would look like if u want

but i guess you might want to get an aftermarket boot in your case then. if you buy the momo boot, they usually come with a large conal spacer that goes on the inside the boot where it shapes the top to match rounded contours pretty well. im running a specter knob on my G and it's a perfect fit at the rounded bottom. GL! |
think I might get a boot off of redlinegoods...
I'll have to keep messing around. just got back from lowes with the washer but I think I like my metal one more. maybe try to polish the aluminum to match the sphere... endless combos, it's like shoes for girls |

Install looks good. Very nice!
|
Man, I am too afraid to drill into the chassis like you did. Worried I might hit something vital.

that's the only think u can think if that got any drilling. |

wat i would do is place a collar inside the boot so that it's got a more pronouced mt.fuji shape so that the bottom of the finisher lands without over hang. :D
|
I'm not that happy with it, I'll mess with it later. probably order a boot and figure out a different method of keeping the boot up and no collar. maybe try out the collar on the inside to see what it looks like with the ballcock washer
|
Nice setup bro! Where did you get the box your sub is in? Perfect setup!
|
it comes like that from JL, it's there combo.
the JL CS110LG- is the code for the box and the 10TW3D4 sub put together by jl so it's perfect for cubic air |
Thanks for the info!

Very simple, nice W3 series, and optimal power with the matched amplifier. I'm sure with our small cabin space that does hit as hard as you describe. I might have to go that route. I've been dying to get bass into this car, but funds haven't allowed those kinds of toys yet. I've just got an itch for something though, driving me nuts. My dilemma is mostly cost, and my OCD on how to do things. I have a universal cell phone bracket i need to install, and its going in with the stereo crevice on the right hand side, BUT, since it requires me to remove the factory base radio, i'm waiting until i get an aftermarket HU. If i get an aftermarket HU, i'm going to run the wires for the rest of the future system at that time. I like to do things once... But i'm not sure how much more I can stand without Bluetooth or some bass. My last nice system were (3) 10W6V2's sealed with a JL 1000/1 in the back of a 2003 Sentra SE-R. Then I went to an Altima Coupe, moved, and haven't had the coin to get a system since. Now with the Z, it just is begging me for something, anything.... lol  |

yeah that's what was bothering me mostly too the Bluetooth an some bass. electronic music just isn't the same without bass. I have a problem with being a little OCD about all if my projects and wanting installers or tec's to do things the way I would if I had there knowledge... so I was lazy and payed a little extra to have someone do it. |
also I just did this little project the other night!
used a step drill bit and dremel with some other tools to make a bass knob fit into the center blank button. didnt want it to stick all the way up but just half of the knob to stick out. I'm pretty happy with the outcome http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/30/ta4ube9u.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/30/u8y6ubub.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/30/3e2e5yqa.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/30/6yduzu6y.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/30/9ymytaha.jpg |

|
