Planning on Upgrading Sounds
I have a brand new 2014 Pearl White 370Z Sport Touring fully loaded and planning on integrating after market sounds into my ride. This would be done by reputable shop in my area. Here's a list of components that I'd more than likely use:
Subs: 2 12" Alpine Type Rs Sub Amp w/ remote bass control: Alpine PDX-M12 1200W RMS @ 4ohms or 2ohms Mids/Highs Amp: Alpine PDX-F4 100W RMS x4 @ 4ohms or 2ohms Front Speakers: Focal 6.5 2 way Components Other info: Trunk would be lined with sound deadening material; custom sub enclosure in the spare tire well This thread is for those that have added high powered sounds to their 370's & have some good tips, opinions, suggestions, pics, etc... |

My factory 8 speaker Bose setup actually sounds fantastic. The only reason why I plan on upgrading is b/c I have basically new equipment (subs & sub amp) from my previous car & I hate for them to just be sitting around unused, plus since I was a teenager I've been an audio enthusiast. It feels good to cruise in a nice ride with good clean killer tunes. Pure bliss baby! :-)

I have been a huge audio enthusiast for years as well. I spent nearly 3k on a custom job on my G35, but sold it for my Z. I have the Bose system as well and am shocked at how well it sounds. Amazing mid range and highs. Even the bass is good for what it is. I do plan to use the spare tire well for a high capacity sub. But honestly, I think I'm gonna keep the Bose mid's/high's and possibly run an amp to them and do a nice in-dash head unit.

Your bose speakers aren't really going to keep up with your massive bass system. My recommendation would be to upgrade those as well and install a dedicated amp for them. Otherwise the bass is going to not just overwhelm the music but completely fade out your bose speakers.

There's no way those bose tweeters are making and decent amount of highs. They are huge and light compared to a mid end aftermarket one, they are essentially the stock ones with improved material.

I had two KFC-XW12R's ran on a KFC-XW12R 2000W D class. I had two KFC-XW12R 6x9's and two KFC-1795PS ran on a KAC-8406 4 channel. And two Excelon tweeters. The Bose is the best factory system I have heard. It's no where near competition level, of course. But I am impressed with it's clarity and reproduction for a STOCK system. I will eventually upgrade. I've used Kenwood Excelon, Pioneer Premier, and Rockford Fosgate for years. Mainly because that is what my local audio shop sales and promotes. I'm ready to move onto something else on my next custom system. I'm interested in doing one sub. I've seen a lot of clean JL set ups. But I've always done two 12's. Any advice on one sub/amp combo? I don't need over kill but I do want something with plenty of power. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Customize it to your taste 370zcorey. You're the one ultimately that needs to be satisfied with it when you're done. Be creative, unique, & most of all have fun with it. :-)

I have the nav/bose system and feel it's pretty good for stock, but it's time to upgrade the front speakers now. Getting those done Monday as my driver side speaker I think is blown anyway for about 2 years.
