and dont get me started on teh flop that is imprint...

You forgot to mention the best ipod integration and best looking units as well as having very solid head units. You also forget that you and other people are more into rely top end high quality head unit like the 1000 dollar clarion and all. Most people do not need all that.
|
Now you're just talking in circles Matthew, I need facts to prove their quality, facts!!:nutswinger:
|
HAHA oh come on Mike you know me I have to use the products to know how good they are. And after installing over 20 pioneers and 45 alpines I know alpine has nothing but quality.
AIM sent (^_-) |
mayybe 10 pioneers and 12 alpines. Your still wet behind the ears, you were playing vidoe games when alpine had nice HU 's out.
|
Ive had more systems in my vehicles the past 2 years then you've installed youngster.(You know i have audio ADD) Im a firm believer in not reccomending sometihng I havent tried or installed myself.:tiphat:
|
Indeed and when you change your system almost every month, Mike, literally I agree.
|
How else can I try every product on the market? It makes it a little cheaper when your a dealer;)

You have to upgrade your F series to the “2009 F-series Navigation Upgrade SD-Card #CNSD-100FM”, it really turns the “F” series to a “X” series in about 35 minutes!! |

Probably a commission since he has made money off the forum members (who actually own a 370Z). He is always bashing Pioneer with his two friends. Look at the threads, the same names appear. I know Kenwood (car electronics only) are really good HU and have owned them and still recommend them. I would rate Alpine today a little less than that of Alpine of the past. I would have to think the commission is a little higher for Alpine, why else would someone really push the product? Pioneers Z series is definitely top notch with the new AVIC X not far behind. Once again, Kenwood is a great product, so is Pioneer………. Trolls, stop bashing Pioneer |

My apology to the OP; just one person does not know how to take a question seriously. I hope the info I posted helps you with what to get. As I said if you need any help just let me know.

I like that Alpine doesent bloat their Double Din head units with carp you dont need. I like the fact that Nav is a plug n play option plus you can get your bluetooth through the Nav module.
I dont need Sattelite/HD Radio nor do I want it. I don't like paying for features I am never going to use. The IPOD interface is awesome and works flawlessly. Plus the sound quality is very close to CD. I have compared back and forth and there is very little difference that I can discern. The screen resolution is first rate for DVD's My only complain is its only 2V pre-outs. I wish it were 7V! I will say this about Imprint! Its much more than an eq! Its an excellent 3-way electronic crossover plus it has 5V pre-outs. Kenwood and Pioneer, Eh! I have never owned one I liked nor owned one that lasted more than a year and a half. I will stick with Alpine or Eclipse, they last! |
Hey, i am the OP, sent you a PM bigaudiofanat, thx!

Quick question. Have you guys considered building a carPC using Centrafuse as a frontend + a touchscreen, instead of going with a traditional head unit? I mean once once have a carPC setup the possibilities are endless.
In addition to Music, navigation etc. you can also display things like realtime gauges. Here is an example of GTR gauges in a RX8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mjl2d...=youtube_gdata |
I have seen and played with two carputers and was not that impressed with the interface nor with the sound quality coming from them. If you are looking for quality in your audio I would stick with the car head units. Just my 0.02
|
Do some research Matthew, Carputers can do some pretty impressive stuff with music :tiphat:
