We removed the door . Got the Ipad mini mount and cut the useless storage out . Fabed some filler and paint. Ordered the isimple to hook up to the AUX on the stock radio and bam ! DONE ! I can take it off , it charges as the car is running and its better then the 1800.00 Nissan GPS .

I rarely use my cubby and have an ipad mini so I'm really interested in doing this! Did you have to actually cut out the cubby or simply remove it (like are there clips holding it?) I'd like to be able to return it to stock if necessary (don't know why I just do). Also, what ipad mini mount exactly did you use here? Lastly, and forgive my ignorance here, but are the cubby dimensions any different in the NISMO? I have an '09 touring... Very cool project and I'd love to be able to use my ipad for GPS and audio while driving. Gonna start looking into details... |
Very clean install. Nice work! Should have taken some pics during the 'build' process!
|
wanna make me one ehh..ehh ;)
|
That looks great!!!
|

is the wire running behind or is it in front/visible? Is there a way to use the ipad/tablet as an audio source without wires hanging out in the open while keeping the stock bose setup? |

I recently did a ipad mount on my 2014 nismo and wanted to know if you could provide me with the wiring you used on yours. Thank You!
|
Any issues with glare?

I have no problems with the glare. |
OP, very nice and clean! The cleanest ipad mini install I have seen in the forum so far.
Would you mind sharing more details how you fabricated the ipad case to fit the cubby? Thanks! |
I have to look for the wiring diagram. I'll PM you as soon as I find it.

Well guys , the wife moved my papers and the diagram is no where to be found. I am going to have to take ipad / radio apart so I can hook up my friends 370Z. I will post pics and a wiring diagram by this Wed night so keep a eye out if you want them. :ughdance:

with the pioneer unit cant you just use the adapter cable that youd use with the iphone ? no need for wiring .. i see your using a gopoint a heads up you download the dash command app you can display it directly to the screen on your avic unit via bt . ive been doing this for a few years now . people are always blown away when you can bring up live data on the screen lol . that ipad looks right at home there .. im just hard pressed to give up my cubby with all the crap in my pockets and the wallet getting shoved in there plus the small awkward to get to center console ( while your driving anyway ) i dont think i can give it up . looks bad *** though . also i just realized that you can control the ipad from the head unit if you use the pioneer adapter cables also it charges from that cable .. deff no need to wire it into anything else ..

frk0..... is your ipad connected via USB to your pioneer unit? I have a kenwood DNX 7130 was thinking about connecting it via USB, not sure what my options are here to have the ipad turn on with the vehicle.
|
Hey Milko, did you ever get around to posting a DIY for this?
|
What OBD 2 did you use that is compatible with the ipad mini?
