Motion detecting in car DVR/Camera
Looking to get some ideas for a motion detecting in car DVR and/or camera. I have had my car vandalized 3 times in the last 3 months.
These are not people looking for revenge because they have targeted other cars in my parking garage. I have a feeling it is teenagers with nothing else better to do and a seriously lack of respect for anything or anyone. 1st incident was someone let out the air of my left rear tire; even went so far as to put the cap back on. 2nd incident was the same as the first, but they targeted 4 other cars in the same vicinity as mine (one car had 3 tires deflated to the rim and another had 2 to the rim; others only 1 tire) and all but one were fairly expensive cars. This time they tossed the cap and even took one off the other back tire, but didn't deflate it. 3rd and latest incident; which is the reason I'm looking for input on a quality system is they decided to key the roof of my car and spoiler. Fortunately it was not down to the paint, but the one on the roof will require work to be done. (Had it polished and buffed today, but there are still visible marks) I don't want to catch and hurt these kids, I want to catch them and have them arrested. I don't know what some of these parents are teaching their kids; well actually they aren't teaching them anything obviously. Does anyone have a system installed in their car for similar reasons or something that would allow me to either record some video (day and night; even though my parking garage is lit) and or take photos so I can turn it over to the authorities in the hopes of at least catching them. I'm afraid sooner or later it is going to cost me more money than I would like to fix whatever it is they have done. Any information and suggestions are appreciated and my apologies if there is already a thread out there with this information. I have done some research and not really finding what I'm looking for; most of the systems out there seem very cheap and I'm doubtful they will get me the quality I would need. If there is a thread already and you can provide the link, I would appreciate it. Also if it is possible that it can be somewhat hidden or not so visible that would be good as well. Thanks for your time. :tiphat: |
Im so sorry to hear this bro. These punks need to be taught a painful lesson. I hope you will catch whomever doing these things.

Me too bro, me too.

Checked out Blackboxmycar.com, they have a few motion sensor dash cams that you might like.

See if you can find what you want here:
https://www.google.com/#q=Motion+sensing+DVR+%2Bcar If that doesn't work, try substituting "motion activated" and "motion detecting". |

Will check that out thanks. Hopefully they have something go that faces out of the back. Quote:
Yeah tried that so many times and only keep finding stuff that doesn't seem like it is the best quality, but will def look again. Thanks for the input. |
or try mounting one on the rear hatch facing forward, hopefull that would give you a wider view

i suggest you move to a place where you have individual parking... like your own garage.
that's really the only way out of this mess. i speak from experience. |
the general consensus is that the general dumbarse public will not allow you to have nice things without hassle.

Damm bro sorry to hear that...I have a blackvue 2 channel camera on my Z its setup to record after the car is off and it records up to 8 hrs I think it works great
Edit: I believe it also has motion...I know it has a built in GPS and g sensor too Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk |

Yeah, I hear you. That will be a prerequisite whenever I move again. Quote:
Definitely agree. Haters everywhere! Quote:
Yeah, Zbrah mentioned a website that had the same one you are talking about, definitely going to be picking that up. Thanks for the info. Does yours have night vision? Also do you have it record regularly at night? Any issues with the battery? |
Not sure about night vision but I will check for u later ...I got something called power box (black box) with it that basically shuts down the camera either after X amount of hours of recording OR if the voltage drops lower than what u set it
I have mine on about 99% of the time Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk |
If this parking garage is operated by your landlord/mgmt, you might be able to get them to install better lighting and even their own video cameras.

Lighting is pretty good, but likely zero chance they will put cameras in anytime soon. Too many places they would have to install. And def not before something happens again at this rate. Local Sheriff has suggested for years to install cameras, but they don't and don't have to...unfortunately. Hence why I want to get the camera. Thanks for the advice though. |
