Default Amp Installation - Can I relocate factory sensor?

I am attempting to install my amp right below the strut bar.

There is a sensor that is attached to the body cross-member right in the middle of the cross-member; it faces towards the front of the car.

For those of you who have removed the foam: What is it? Can I relocate it? I just spent 45 minutes scanning the Service Manual with no luck. My guesses are:

1. Key fob receiver.
2. VDC sensor.
3. Most likely not an air-bag sensor.

Help!!!!!

In my words. I would not touch it or let alone relocate it.

Check the manufacturer - perhaps that will shed some light on it.

When pulling off the center console, I saw a similar sensor- I assumed key fob, VDC didn't even cross my mind... In hindsight, I'm glad I didn't mess with it.

I don't know; however, you can download the service manual. Is the sensor attached to the metal strut bar or to the foam piece? Did you actually remove the foam piece?
