2011, No NAV, Bose audio - No Streaming music?

Guys I've been using a Cable.

Should my 2011 be able to stream audio via bluetooth? Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Its pairing for the phone no problem.

If someone can give me a step by step I'd really appreciate it. In my other car, once the phone is paired, I just hit the AUX button, and music plays from my iphone and is controlled by the steering wheel audio. Not sure why it isn't working on this car.

Step 1. Buy a head unit that supports streaming audio from your phone. ;)

If it's possible, procedure should be in Owner's Manual or the FSM. Both available on this site, in case you have lost your OM.

Buy an FM Transmitter which supports bluetooth. It's cheap and works like charm. :yum:

I believe in 2011 you needed navigation to stream bluetooth audio.

Either I'm retarded (not out of the question) or you can't do it with the Nav in a 2011.

I got lucky that the actual press release came up first on my search for this question.

Interesting, yeah I do not see why having navigation should stop/give bluetooth audio streaming as I would assume they use the same bluetooth tech in the touring spec.

i always though bluetooth streaming audio and bluetooth phone were two completely different animals, if the head unit does not have the audio decoder, you will not get squat if you try to stream audio but works good for phone only. so yeah, pairing as a separate audio player should work
