Pioneer's new DD head unit line, any good?
Hey guys,
Have been researching aftermarket head units lately and I came across pioneers new line "AVIC NEX" line. Has anyone had any time with this new line? Anyone have any suggestions? |
same here..been eyeing it as well...looks decent from what i seen at the SEMA show

I've been eyeing the nex 4000. Still haven't found it locally to play with yet.

I was thinking of going with the 4000 as well, I dont need navi built in, sees like the best bang for the buck in that line.

I also read that it can mirror specific apps including the navigation apps. I'd much prefer google maps over the built in crud. |

That's my primary reason for eyeing this. That way I can have Maps on that one and the Nexus 7 can do Torque while it's in the cubby hole. |
I just got the avic-8000 installed and I must say that the unit is very responsive. It also has a bright capacitive screen which makes scrolling to the menu much easier.

huh, how is the nav? is it at least comparable to a garmin?
(speed, accuracy, etc). |

I much prefer Waze, Motion X, and other GPS running through App mode to any standalone GPS.
