Big's 2014 California Install Thread

So just getting back from another great trip to CA. The trip consisted of 4 installs 3 in which were very similar to what was getting installed. The 4th was a JBL MS8 integration into the bose system which I have to say impressed even me with the sound that was coming out once the bose amp was bypassed.

I also want to take this time to announce the official launch of my new company name. Dynamic Mobile Audio. Some of you may remember talking with me about taking my business full time with the ability to offer brands as well as give uncle SAM his due. :rofl2:

DMA - Home

2 month ago I filed everything to get this done including becoming authorized to sell Arc Audio, Stinger, MB Quarts, Pioneer, Clifford, Xpresskit, Audiocontrol, Dynamt, JVC, Parrot, Kicker. I will soon be offering JL, Focal, Hertz, and possibly audison in the near future.

Let's get to the build pics.

Day 1 was the JBL MS8 install. Thanks eastwest for helping hunt down the diagrams.

Customer was RumbleFish

Installed the MS8 right above the stock bose amp, easy to tap the harnesses sense they are right there.

The last two installs were quick and picture restricted but I am waiting for the customer to get them to me.

Last install went super fast as a shipping error almost screwed up the entire install. Lucky the morning of my flight it all got done. The owner already had the head unit installed just needed to add the amp, speakers, and sub.

They were

Arc Audio XDI 6.2's
Arc Audio V2 4 channel amp
Kicker Hideaway sub

Installed in Sensei Kreese 40th Z

I was actually pretty impressed with the overall sound improvements. Needs a bit more bass though probably from a hideaway sub or amp and sub.

Can't go as loud as a standard set of speakers that are amp'd though.

Damn I wish I did this! Good attention to detail there and recognizing that those metal clips under the shift boot plastic with scratch the hell out of your console. Nice job!

good job with the painter's tape.

bigaudiofanat 04-10-2014 02:38 PM

Thanks guys, I have learned through doing them that taping that area up is basically required as to not scratch the panels.

Looks like i will be coming back to CA for more work around June July if anyone is interested.

Definitely sounds cleaner but, I need meez a sub.

Had to lose the Bose sub since it won't play nice w/ the MS8

I was hoping the MS8 would get me to a happy place w/ the Bose...close but, not really.

Now I'm gonna upgrade the speakers & add a sub & amp.

Sensei Kreese 04-11-2014 01:44 PM

Turned out great, sounds great, no issues. Couldn't afford to lose any trunk space so the Kicker Hideaway worked out perfect.
