Music for Subwoofer Performance Analysis?

I noted in another thread that I recently replaced my 2 12" Kicker CVRs with Polk MM1240s, and the difference is pronounced. The MMs respond smoothly across their range and REALLY pick up subtleties well, giving my music a lot more details in the lower frequencies. What I have noticed is added detail in songs I've listened to for a while, and an absence of distortion that I encountered with the Kickers. The Kickers thumped hard, but that's about it.

I'd be interested to know if any of you have music that you like on a good set of subs? Something with complicated or detailed bass, or frequencies that are hard to reproduce, or otherwise fun or interesting with a good trunk of funk?

If you have a chance to post suggestions or favorites, it would be greatly appreciated (except by my neighbors).

Lindsay Stirling Crystallize but any of her songs really, Rush Limelight, Melody Molly Johnson, Pink floyd, Night Sweats Larry Carlton, Still got the blues for you Gary Moore

Also if you think that is impressive, upgrade your speakers to something like hertz, arc audio, image dynamics, or focal and you will be shocked to head what warmth that adds.

I gotta believe that would be impressive. I should EBay my basement full of subs and do as you suggested.

My rear 6x9s are Hertz per suggestions here. They are nice.

For a "deep bass" test, I like the intro (0:00-1:45) to Billy Thorpe's "Children Of The Sun". The grooves on the LP look pretty wild, too.

For all-around testing purposes, I like to use Steely Dan's "Aja" album.

Man, I forgot about Billy Thorpe. As usual, great suggestion.

Journey "Faithfully" Sappy song, but the drums are killer on a good system. When I listen to it in the Z, it sounds like the drums are 20' in front of the car.

Subsonic by bass mekanic if you really wanna give those subs a workout

Hell yeah! another good test would be Dj Fury and Bass Patrol----- 30's and Lows.
Old school stuff.

Somebody here must have had a killer mullet in the '80s.

Good suggestion nonetheless.

Dl a bass tuner sample. They go through a lot of ranges. I however usually just go through a dozen or so songs of different genres and adjust my bass/sub level accordingly. You really get a good sense of what your system can do and sound like.

Journey is awesome! I blast them just about every other week. They imo are not a good "bass" test but are awesome to listen too. I ideally have to put my bass up to 5 and sub to 7 to get a really good kick.

Ifyou want to shake your teeth loose, granted the music itself sucks... PM me your email address. I will send you "songs" that literally burned the lights in my house out. And the bass was so much and aggressive that it would make burnt out bulbs flicker on again as well

Nellyville bumps, "faces" sang by Audrey Gallagher, Darude original mix or Music-Bostik mix. Be warned, Darude is pure ENERGY !!
