Component speakers or subwoofer
I just picked up a Pioneer 4600bt for my base 370. I really didn't want to spend any more money right now but my speakers sound like crap. So, should I add a component system with amp or subwoofer first? Then in a few moths I'll do whatever is left. Also, if you choose the component system, any suggestions?
|
I'd do components first. Although I have dual subs in mine, I could live without them. The stock speakers are particularly bad, so start there. I'd also do an amp to power them properly.

Components all day man. There has been a few threads made adding this as well.

This is the route I was thinking as well.

I'm thinking Polk db6501 and either the rockford fosgate p300x2 or pioneer prs-d800

I did 6x9s in my current Z, but they are not really necessary. I'm just sort of a 6x9 fan. |
Good Choices IMO, however if you can swing the money that costs for the brands, I suggest the Focal series over Polk, Fosgate, Infinity almost any day. There are a few Boston Acoustic sets out there which are pretty damn good also.
Just my thoughts. |
Is there a sponsor I should get the door spacers from or where else can I get them? Or will I even need them? I'm going to stick with the 6.5in.
|
So if I am ordering the zclosure spacers, do I get the 6.5in center hole?

since you have the base model, i would say go with components. I even have the BOSE and am gonna swap mine out. They are just okay with my JL 10Wv3.

The prs d800 is a top-notch amplifier... Small footprint, beautiful to look at, and sounds amazing as well. Not to mention can be had for cheap...
I have 2 spares on the shelf in the garage, just waiting for the right time to install in place of my re-audio unit. |
Wanna sell one:)
