What you guys think pioneer x1500dvd does have pandora already built in no need for iphone

Elan 03-03-2014 02:53 AM

Nice! Did you do it yourself?

Pnoyz916 03-03-2014 04:23 AM

Yes

kenchan 03-03-2014 09:30 AM

cool. i run 4500BT's in my G and Z, and 2500BT in my dd. :) im a pandora-one user myself so i like how i can just stream off my android phone via BT without even taking it out of my pocket.

equalme 03-03-2014 11:40 AM

I've been contemplating about getting a head unit as well. Is there a brand or model that is highly recommended?

I'm not much of a car audio fanatic but the Bose setup does sound good to me. I do stream pandora a whole lot and hate having to plug in my phone all the time.

kenchan 03-03-2014 03:00 PM

pioneers run pandora native from the screen. if you're going to use the bose amp, you will want to get a pioneer with the 4V+ preamp. usually all 7" doubledin ones from pioneer have the 4V preamps.

my G has the bose system and while i swapped out the speakers, still using the bose amp. i run the 4500BT (this is a 2013 model). check 4600BT's features and preamp specs. should be very similar to my 4500BT, but a 2014 model.

Hope it dims for you at night. I had one in my 350Z and it was too bright even at the lowest settings. Drove me nuts. Nice deck tho and I hope it doesnt blind you.

hummm... there is a dimmer setting to were you can set the dim brightness to.

maybe you or your installer didn't have yours wired up correctly?

Nope my pioneer dvd deck was at the lowest setting possible. Nothing I could do other the put a towel over it at night. Hopefully his deck will be dim enough for him and may not be a big enough issue considering it's in a 370Z in comparing to my 350Z I had.

I did not go this route again and went with an Alpine dual din regular deck on my 370z.

your unit may have been defective then because mine a its minimum dim setting is too dark to see the screen unless it is pitch dark. this was the same way on my previous models like the 4100DVD as well. you either did not install it correctly or defective.

alpine's okay..they're kind of obsolete these days though last time i checked. i would go either pioneer or kenwood.

Pnoyz916 03-03-2014 04:40 PM

huh... on my android i just hit the pandora icon on the HU and it connects. no need to do anything on my droid. if i have the phone's screen security on, then it could take a second try depending on where i left off on the last pandora play.

Apparently...

"If you are using an iPhone you will need to connect to the receiver with the appropriate interface cable depending on your iOS device (sold separately). If you are using an Android device, the phone must be paired via Bluetooth to the receiver."

Malm 03-04-2014 08:13 AM

Hmm. Thinking of going from a iPhone 4S to a galaxy s4. Have a "free" upgrade

Because it's a safety feature you would have to do the bypass in order to do that. The unit wants you to be parked to do that.

http://www.amazon.com/AVH-X1500DVD-A...pr_product_top

Or you can use a relay and make your own.

Big J 03-06-2014 01:45 PM

Do you know of this unit is compatible with hands free calling?

kenchan 03-06-2014 02:47 PM

bigj- you need to get the BT module or the 2500BT for handsfree calling. BT (blue tooth)
then you can stream pandora natively too.

as big mentioned...

also...

Amazon.com: MicroBypass Automatic Video in Motion Interface for Pioneer Models AVH-X1500DVD AVH-X1600DVD AVH-X2500BT AVH-X2600BT AVH-X3500BHS AVH-X3600BHS AVH-X4500BT AVH-X4600BT AVH-X5500BHS AVH-X5600BHS AVH-X6500DVD AVH-X7500BT AVH-P8400BH AVH-X850

you can buy the same thing on ebay too for a tad less.

there seems to be a slight switch delay difference between the ones that are for the previous gen pioneers and current/new gen. make sure you get the one that shows your model number.

Huge bump, but... Does anyone know if steering wheel buttons(volumen and the others) work with this system?

Thanks.

I believe this unit has the standard wired remote input. Steering wheel functions will work with a steering wheel interface.

I love my Pioneer HU.

Hate the lack of reception on my iphone tho it is an easy switch from Pandora to my ipod or the radio.
