Clarion CX-609 Installed [Pix]

Hi all,

Just in case anyone is considering this stereo and wondering what it looks like in the Z's dash...

I'm not a pro, but I did the install myself because I like bonding with my car... well, in this case, my wife's daily driver (which is why it's an auto GRRR!). I love all the A/V and Nav systems you guys are putting in, but she just wanted something that looked close to stock, but with better sound, bluetooth, and Ipod control. I think this works pretty well. I also put Focal polyglass components in the doors and dash. There's nothing to see for those, because I reused all the factory covers. They are invisible. Thanks to Bigaudiofanat and this forum for answering a few of my questions and making the install less stressful.

Looks nice, good job. Way to earn bonus points with the wife.

@vpn201: I routed the mic cord behind the dash, through the driver's side tweeter opening, then up the pillar behind the plastic paneling. The mic itself peeks out right where the pillar panel meets the roof. Sorry for not taking pictures of that. I stole the idea from another picture in this forum though.

Nice!

I'm looking to replace my stock unit with a NX509.
Let me know how you guys like the performance of Clarion.

That looks OEM. Definitely a clean looking head unit.

Very nice. HU color matching to the interior accent = . Well done!

I'm leaning hard towards the Clarion VX709. It plays MP3, WMA, and AAC files on DVD, thats a lot of songs on one disc. But the best feature is that the microphone is built into the headunit, no running wires and attaching an external mic somewhere.
