Nn04b

Hi everyone,

I am using the Scosche NN04b harness to wire up an Alpine 940bt and an ASWC. Looking at the Scosche harness the pins do not match up with what the factory harness states. The NN04b has pin 16 as (a red wire) 12v switch when the factory harness says pin 7 is the +12v switch and pin 16 is for the radio, which I will use for the ASWC. Will it hurt anything if I move the red wire on the NN04b from pin 16 to pin 7? Also is it ok to add wires to pins 8 and 9 so the dimmer will work?

NVM I had a slow moment. I did not realize I had the NN04B upside down when counting the pins. pin 19 should be on my right.

OH OH!! I'm having the same problem and have been having it for over a year now. Exactly the same. What did you do???

I haven't fixed it yet. the only thing I can think of that I did not plug back in was the rear electrical connector in the center console? I zip tied it up by the power port cuz It looked like it was a blank plug kinda like the rear fog light is. I might go recheck that tomorrow. 6 hours of install today with all the wire routing and tearing apart the car. im done

I've put more than 20 hrs into the install and trying to figure out what the hell went wrong but this is one of the symptoms I've never been able to figure out.

Fun fact: the fob detection will come and go. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't and you'll have no idea why. Man if you figure this out, I will buy you a beer.

Also if this helps you, it's probably not the fog light. I have a nismo.

To answer your question, the master control module for the wireless antenna is underneath the center console.

at the rear of the center console? if so then problem solved I know I didn't plug that back in. I wasn't saying it was the fog light.. I was referencing the blank plug looking thing. I didn't see abox of any kind at the back on the center console but ill got look and ill repost.

No I think it's towards the front near the gearbox. Small flat square thing.

whyte_widow 04-09-2013 10:26 PM

so tore apart my center console and plugged that "blank" back in. I check all my wiring again and the 2 big connectors right under the HU (big black ones wrapped in foam) were loose. not falling apart but they had about 1/8" of push-in left. Vwaa laa. key works with out putting back in the slot. coulda been that back plug or that loose connector either way im good to go and I fixed my air bag light just like the instructions said. BOO YA :happydance:

I wonder if I overlooked that plug. Could be a bad connection.

If you start getting intermittent problems, let me know please.

My Z came with the jvc aftermarket touchscreen radio. It's a cool little add on but I noticed that none of the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel work. Cruise control is fine but everything else is useless. Also, everyone I call when I use the Bluetooth to make calls tells me it sounds horrible. Could it be due to the jvc? Thanks in advance

dmhenderson 04-21-2013 10:28 AM

Yes and yes.

You need a steering wheel interface module like so:
Pac SWI Jack Steering Wheel Control Interface for JVC Alpine Clarion Kenwood | eBay

As for the BT quality, it may just be road noise. Where is your mic mounted?

Gibby1113 04-21-2013 01:41 PM

It's by the steering wheel.

dmhenderson 04-21-2013 02:33 PM

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust on the car? I can no longer use bluetooth in the car because to quote a coworker, "it sounds like motherf*cking NASCAR jesus christ just call me back later"

If that's the problem, you're kinda boned. If it's not - try relocating the mic mount to the a pillar on the driver's side close to head-level. That's where mine is and it worked like a charm (before the exhaust/HFCs went on)

Gibby1113 04-21-2013 11:48 PM

So I can pull it out and it's attached to a wire long enough to extend to where you said? I really appreciate all of your help.

Btw can I have that part for the steering wheel installed at like best buy?
