Side question. Anyone have this Amazon.com: Super Mini ELM327 V1.5 OBD2 OBD-II Bluetooth CAN-BUS Auto Diagnostic Tool for Windows XP, Vista, Win7, OSX and Android: Automotive

Its a OBD2 OBD-II Bluetooth Mini. I own one. But i've heard people say it drains their batteries if left plugged in. I really hate to keep unplugging and replugging every day. Anyone have battery drain?

It shouldn't pull that much current but you can use your voltmeter to get a rough estimate. Leave the unit unplugged for a few days and check the battery voltage before you start the car each day (push Start button twice with foot OFF brake pedal to activate dash gauges). Plug the unit in and check battery voltage over a few days. If no big difference in battery voltage, you should be OK.

I've left it in for a week or more with no problems. You could also pay a little more for one with an off switch or get an extension cable so it is easier to remove and you aren't pulling it off the car directly.

Ah man, I have and can send you the files. If you want PM me your email.

-On side note the OBD-II scanner was tripping lights (oil pressure/traction) so I unplugged it. Also found that Pioneer released a new in-dash dvd/nav that I believe you can download the app and run. Which at the time seemed at a better option. But I have something else in store..
