Dash kit need help

My wife bought me a kenwood double din with GPS. The 590hd. She bought all the wires etc but the guy also sold her the dash kit as he said

She bought all the wires etc but the guy also sold her the dash kit as he said we would need it to install the stereo. He charged 94 dollars for just the dash kit. All the other stuff was priced fine. My question is do I even need the dash kit? Crutch shows the 590 hd as fitting but I can't tell for sure as they do provide a dash kit. If I need one I could order it online for 30 dollars. Any thoughts? Thanks!
