Audio Help 2014 Base

OK so I have installed the speakers in the front and the back and the amps and the sub and the head unit. I have tested all the wiring and this is what I have concluded. Both amps work fine. The rear speaker work fine. The head unit seems to work fine. My issues are: When everything is connected I am not getting any sound out of my front speakers, (actually none out of the LF and just barely sound out of the RF). If I connect the front speakers to an external source the LF is still quite and the RF works fine.

I have wired the HU up as if I was going to use the stock speakers but I ave am running three sets of RCA's running to the amps. A two channel bridged for the sub and a 4 channel for the speakers.

Here is my equipment:
-2014 370z base w/ sport
-Pioneer AVH-X4500BT
-Infinity Ref X REF-6500cfx (front components)
-Infinity Ref X REF-3002cfx (rear)
-Alpine Type R 10"
-Wicked CAS corner 10" box
-JBL Power Series 80.4 (4 channel)
-JBL Power Series 300.1 (1 channel)

I am holding off on the ASWC-1 until I get this figured out. The wires are all soldered onto the speakers and the wires into the cross over look fine. I think I am missing something??

Thanks for the help.

Update: everything is installed but. I some how lost switched power in the stock harness and I checked all three fuse boxes. I got the componets to play with the crossovers but they were quite. They are much louder when run directly from the amps. It seems like everyone runs componets does everyone use the crossover or use the amp crossover with the tweeter run from the Head unit?

You should use your crossover that came with your components! You may blow your tweeters running them directly to the amp.

Well everything is installed and it is working kind of. Apparently Nissan grounds there stereos through the stereo chassis and in adding a aftermarket one you need to ground it?! I haven't got the steering wheel controls working and after I put everything back in the screen stopped working but the sound is still there. Couple more trouble shooting things to take care of. Have you guys ever had an issue with the Pioneer HU coming up as "unregistered" It is almost like a frozen screen, but I can get out of it.

Yes you have to ground your head unit, I use one of the bolts around the shiftier.

The bolt behind where the cubby sits (top of the stack) is a ground option as well.

Well after I reassembled everything I get a black screen that says something like Image may be reversed. It sounds like my disabled e-brake wires may be missing something. I was still getting a unregistered screen when it was working so I will have to look into that.

lesper4 02-10-2014 04:14 PM

so no one has ever had this issue?

bigaudiofanat 02-10-2014 06:28 PM

Usually that comes up when your backing up as just a warning. Is it always on?

See, lots of backup cameras are reversed, and have a wire you can cut to change the image perspective.
Some car stereos have a setting in Setup, where you can change the image to "Mirrored" in effect reversing the image as if you were looking in the mirror instead of over your shoulder, etc. I think that may be the case here. Perhaps your backup cam has a setting/wire that causes the message to be sent, or it's a setting in your head unit, hard to say. I'd try another camera just to be sure.
SOME of the cameras won't run off of the newer cars with LED's on the reverse lamps, they can't provide enough current. In that case you may need a relay to switch +12V to the camera. Those are issues I've heard about before thru the grapevine. Your camera may not be turning on? Hard to say.

The screen comes on when ever I touch a button on the bottom. Also not all of the touch screen buttons work (most do not). If I got into the Audio setting, it thinks I am pushing only one button so I have no control to get to something else. The main source screen touch buttons also work but they are very slow to the response.

I read somewhere that it had to do with the steering wheel controls. So I unplugged the phone jack but the wires are still plugged in.

Sounds to me like something is going on in the radio. Have you got it torqued in there like hell? Maybe the touchscreen needs calibrating? I would take it out of the bolted in position and try the touchscreen then. I've seen guys tighten them too much and it caused stress/damage to the Resistive elements in the touch screen.

i would yank that unit completely off the car and connect the red and yellow to a 12v+ powersupply and black to ground. just go through the features on the HU to make sure it's functional. dont even need the speakers connected.

in fact, i recommend doing that prior to any HU install before taking apart your car.
