I've detected normal K and Ka radar regularly, and in 6 months, have only been painted with laser once. That's not including mysterious false alarms from doors, car security, or business security systems. Rather, actual, "Oh, there he is," alarms. In fact, the one time the laser sound popped up on my Passport it kinda scared me since I'd never heard it before.

Of note, latest Car & Driver mag has a several page comparison between V1 and Passport.

And I cannot read the title of this thread properly. I keep thinking it's a little early for February...

I have actually been talking to some people, sense radar detectors are becoming legal basically everywhere. A lot of police are switching to laser. I have been hit with laser at least 9 times in my way to Mays Landing and back this month. Been confirmed with my friends radar even a few times because I thought my escort was acting up.

It depends on whatever the local departments choose to buy. I know Ka is primary for radar, but some smaller agencies still use K. Laser is not as preferred as it requires the emitter to be stationary.

I just can't bring myself to put it on lol.

I've used the V1 for years on my sport bike, as well as in my car.

It's paid for itself many times over.

I like the fact that the V1 is upgradable when new radar tech becomes available at Valentine, and I like the directional arrows that tell me where the radar hit is coming from.

It also has laser detection* Granted, if you're the only car on the road and there's a cop with laser, you're pretty much toast…but, if there are others on the road, your V1 will at least let you know when it gets a laser hit so you know to be on your toes.

If it's getting a laser hit, it's already too late to be on your toes. :ugh2: Time to bend over..

Not true…as I said, if someone ahead of you gets hit with a laser, there's a good chance your V1 will light up, thus letting you know there's a laser ahead.
