Component Speaker Install - Thank You
First,
Let me say thank you to the forum. The DIY instructions and videos made my replacement of the headunit, reverse cam, and component speaker upgrades easy peasy! I did them in different phases but am complete now. For anyone on the fence about upgrading the stock 6.5" components - DO IT! I got a cheap set of MTX TSN65s with 6.5" drivers and 1" tweeters. Basically designed to handle about 40W RMS, 4 ohms impedance. They work great with an aftermarket headunit (18-23W rms) and do not need to run new wiring or mount crossover boxes. The highs produced by real tweeters blew me away. Best part they only cost $60. I used the cardboard tweeter mounting method and it works perfectly. Also reused the stock tweeter factory wiring harness and the four mounting points/screws to secure it. Only point I was worried about once everything was hooked up my driver power window did not work but the passenger side did (using the driver controls). The close door, turn acc on, and 10 second up/down trick worked.
