Default Double DIN install fitment

Ok so I have been searching and I can't seem to find out if you need the sleeve to install a 6.1 or 7 dd unit in our cars. I have the opportunity to pick up a avic 970bt for 175 and I can't seem to find anyone with a definite answer on the fit and needing or not needing the sleeve. Please help if you can. The rest of the install i have down.

Most radios come with a "sleeve". Usually if they don't it's because they are stolen. Be weary.

The double din units will fit using the stock mounting brackets and screws no sleeve is required.

Agree there is a ever so small gap with the stock face plate. It's so small it doesn't bother me at all and I'm pretty picky about stuff like that. The aftermarket adapter rings are cheapo and don't match the stock plastics.

I'm picky. Went with the dash kit. It's worth the 25 bucks to have no gap.

I was told with a motorized face you need a dash kit to get the clearances? If it is not motorized then the stock face plate will work (possibly 2014 only)?

Get the scosche dash kit. It's better than the metra and has no gap at all. The original dash kit has a small gap with aftermarket headunits...
