So what fits... any Double DIN??

It seems a lot of you guys have had no problem getting the double DIN head units to fit, I was wondering if anyone has found a double DIN that won't fit?

I'll be upgrading mine stock to a nav head unit soon, and am looking at just about everything, so if you know of a unit that won't fit I'd appreciate the heads-up.

The opening is a standard so any double din head unit will fit the opening. Depth unfortunately isn't a part of the standard. It gets pretty tight depth wise with a 6" head unit with lots of cables. I haven't seen a head unit much deeper than that though.

Found this here:

International standard ISO 7736 defines a standard size for car audio head units. The standard was originally established by the German standards body Deutsches Institut fur Normung, and is therefore commonly referred to as the "DIN car radio size". It was adopted as an international standard in 1984.

Head units generally come in either single DIN (180 x 50 mm panel) or double DIN (180 x 100 mm panel) size. The depth is not standard.

The US standard for a DIN radio is generally considered to be approximately 2" x 7" and the Double DIN sized radio is a 4" x 7".

The thing is not about how big the head unit is most of the time it is about how many wires are back there and you have to fight them for space, it can take a while.

Looks to be deeper than a normal double din. Normal is around 163mm that is 212mm so you may not have clearance behind.

Crutchfield.com lists stereos that fit the 370z and they measure the depth of the unit too so you KNOW it will fit. It's like tire rack for stereos.
