Default Rear Speaker placement idea

So its pretty agreed that the locstion of the rear speakers in both 350z and 370z is terrible and inefficient. I have an extra set of speakers I was looking to install. I wss thinking about just getting boxes for 6x9's and putting them behind the seats.

Butttt......what if the speakers were mounted in the roof kinda like a jeep wrangler has a rear speaker bar? In the 370z, it looks like there is a section in the headliner that could hold a shallower type speaker.

Has anyone tried it?

I tried the 6X9's in boxes and used the shelf's in the rear but was not happy with the sound. I wound up buying this box (pictured) and installed my 6X9's in it. I will have to run a second amp for my subs later but the sound now is amazing. Once I get these 8" subs going this should complete my good sounding stereo issue.

Dont laugh at my Lanzar subs. Im trying to find the right setup for me. I will be buying some JL's or JBL subs when I get my second amp. LOL. Not bad for some cheapos but they dont handle amplifiers very well.

I am not going to poke fun at speaker choices... but if that is a shared chamber for subs and 6x9s, I can see it causing some major issues.

Just my $0.02.

Im not hating at all. Theyre not terrible and are usually dirt cheap and get the job done.

I really like that box too. Very nice.

I found, in the trash, 2 pairs of alpine type r speakers that I'd like to use. A pair of 6x9s and a pair of 6.5s. Not sure why they were thrown away, but they work, so woot woot for that.

I'd think that the box would have seperate boxes/sections for the 6x9's. Atleast I'd hope so as well

Running 50 watts RMS total to any given speaker. Ran this setup before in a RX7 with a 10" sub/two 6X9's with no issues. If you keep the wattage down and port the box this will work.
