It's an expensive piece for sure. If you don't need it, it seems silly to spend the $$ just for the look. Personally I didn't need any more than the

It's an expensive piece for sure. If you don't need it, it seems silly to spend the $$ just for the look. Personally I didn't need any more than the sport options. When I travel, I pop my $100 Garmin into place on a simple bracket I made and I'm good to go...

A real waste since outboard (portable) NAVs will acually let you operate them while moving.

Can you post a picture of the bracket you made? Maybe even a top down of how the GPS mounts to the dash?
