Bose Wiring Diagrams!!
Here you are these are the outputs that go to the speakers. I am working on the signal diagrams now. What you can do with these diagrams is well a lot. You can install a JL clean sweep, tap into the sub wires for a MTX RE-Q for your sub, or use the speaker wire codes to cut them from the bose system and hook up a aftermarket crossover for your new speakers. "makes sure to disconnect the factory one that is in the door or before the wires enter the door" I am still working the rest out so please give me some time. Enjoy! I have not yet figured out what the L stands for what color so bare with me on that note as well.
This is the main harness that comes out of your bose amp. Also from what I have seen the wiring is exactly the same for the bose model with nav Front Left #4 L? + #5 Violet - Front Right #8 Orange + #5 Violet - Left Tweeter #6 Light Green + #7 Green - Right Tweeter #27 White + #37 Blue - Rear Left #1 L? + #10 Purple - Rear Right #2 Light Green + #3 Yellow - Sub "Also found at the Bose Sub Amp" #9 Sky Blue + #14 Violet - Behind Head unit #7 L + ACC Power #9 Red + #8 White - Illumination #19 Constant 12 Volt #16 L + Steering Switch Signal B #15 Blue - Steering Switch Signal Ground #24 White + #30 Blue - Steering Switch Signal A #20 Green + Streering Wheel Switch Signal A

The stock wiring and all are coming. Also I was reading last night that some of you found a stock crossover in your doors. From the diagrams I am looking at there is not one, the wires go directly from the bose amp to the speaker. Now I could be wrong.

You have to located your bose amp wherever that may be than tap into the wires that I put there. Well not tap into them cut them coming out of the amp and go into your clean sweep. Than run your new wires to your speakers off the amp. Also unless you are comfortable doing this stuff than I would have someone else do it.

Each speaker output is it's own channel the fading all depends on what speakers are connected and all. The bose has channels just like any other amp or setup. So fading and all should be fine. The sub has it's own channel as well so that will have to be controlled by the MTX RE-Q.

I try to help people as much as I can. I hope that this helps them. Or at least until I work on one that has a bose system and learn more.

I was planning on a RE-Q5 till I can afford the HU I want with all the goodies, but still upgrade the sound. So what your saying is I have to cut the speaker output wires off the amp send them to the RE-Q5 inputs?
All the stock stuff has to go for the mids and tweet there is no upgrading the sub first then installing the next amp and new mids and tweets? Can you run the RE-Q5 for just the SUB leave the Mids and Tweets for now? Not worth the hastle? Also the wiring diagram shows 4 outputs to the front, are all those full range from the Bose? Just pick say the two for the mid range front speaker and leave the front tweeter output out(cap the leads) when I switch out the factory speakers? Just a few questions on a great old thread, spent a while looking for this. So nice to get this wiring schematic, thanks Matt! |

You can just disconnect the sub and run those wires to the brown wires of the mtx that would be fine. Only thing is unless you plan on keeping your head unit which your not you should just wait and save time and haste.

I was going to do the install in stages, complete the back half of the car, run just the power wire to the back for now.
Where abouts is the bose amp mounted? I think it's behind the drivers seat but not sure. I could mount everything under the sub location, all I need to do is build a false floor up with MDF and I can secure everything to that. |
