True, but then everyone has something bad to say about any name brand.
I hear Pioneer sucks. I hear Alpine sucks. I hear Kenwood sucks. So what's left? JVC, Clarion... ? I can't even name any others. :icon17: |

im also a kenwood fan. if im looking to get nav built-in, definitely would be kenwood. i use to buy alpine solely but not any more. JVC is also pretty good, but right now Pioneer is king for me. they are very economical too. you can get a 4500BT for like $270... 2500BT for 220. that's crazy cheap. |
Yeah, my last Pioneer was okay. It wasn't a 2DIN and the only thing that went wrong was a tooth broke off of the gear that pushed out the screen (still worked).
I'm just wanting something that doesn't look stylish (my last Pioneer didn't really fit that bill). I'd like to be able to see the song title and artist, skip, pause, thumbs up and down songs on Pandora via the touch screen too. I have a while, so I'll go research again. |

AppRadio 3 (SPH-DA110) - NEW! - In-Dash iPhone® and Android™ Compatible Car Receiver with 7" Capacitive Multi-Touchscreen, Bluetooth®, MirrorLink™, and On-Screen Access to Compatible Apps | Pioneer Electronics U
This one looks nice... has AppRadio3 too. Great, now I'm back to wanting a 2DIN HU right now! :icon17: Although, I'm not sure I'd use AppRadio, since you still have to connect via cable. I just want BT, but it's a bit too old school to not get a touch screen, isn't it? |
yah, unless you want some generic looking cheepo unit, definitely get the touchscreen. :D
|
I think I can get an older unit (yet still NIB) with AppRadio 2 for cheaper. Just found this for under $300...

As to the original question - I have bluetooth integrated in my OEM headunit. Works great with my IPhone

i dont remember if i can thumbsup/down on it as im too busy driving. :rofl2: |
kinda beat the purpose for me wanting the stock HU then. I wanted to keep my car looking stock and do a pad mod inside my cubby. The idea was to broadcast my music with bluetooth and listen it on my sound system through the stock HU. This will keep the setup clean and semi simple. No wires in the aux, coming out the cig lighter or anything if i can help it. If I have to change my HU to an aftermarket one. I might as well get a good one and not even have to do the PAD mod. I just rather have a PAD as it is more versatile and cooler to have. I was willing to try and find a stock HU that has bluetooth and buy it for relatively cheap (get the code and all so I can use it obviously) and then do a pad mod (was thinking of trying to get a window 8 tab to fit somehow).

Just the Bose HU won't BT connect I don't believe. BT was not an option on my '13 w/o paying ~$7,000 for the Touring (and Bose) and Nav package. |
and so my question is answered. Thanks. I guess I will just have to look around for a steal of a deal for a HU then. Until then, I'll keep rocking my cd's and 1/8 jack to my phone.
