if you look a little closer at the carpeted pic you will see the diamond grating that covers the sub. so unless something stabs the through the grate you can throw a bowling ball on it and it won't hurt it



no sound sacrifice and the box is built to spec for that specific sub so it gets used to its potential

Yeah, I thought I saw something under the carpet, but I just wanted to be sure. That really is a great looking setup, is that sold as a kit or something or was it custom for you? I am starting to consider what to do with my sound system once I get my Z, and something like what you have is definitely intriguing.

it is a custom box but you can have it built for less than $500. plus it leaves room for AMPs and there is no need to worry about how to route or hide wires. I would GMAT the trunk though as im sure it would resonate with being hollow.
