Default 3.5mm Aux to USB converter

Would one of these 3.5mm aux to female USB converters work with my stock 370z Base model stereo? Would my stock non-Bose stereo be able to read music on a USB stick or do I need an MP3 player connected to the aux port for it to work?

Thanks, Rob

No in more ways than one.

USB is digital and the AUX port is analog. Your USB stick is a storage device. Something has to read the mp3 files stored and convert it to analog (i.e. mp3 player).

I don't know what a person would do with a cable like this. May some project where a full size USB port wouldn't fit.

Yep, that's probably for use by some custom program for a mini system even smaller then a Raspberry Pi. Someone would need to rewrite the audio drivers, or something similar, even for a normal system to get it to work properly. The stock HU just wont do anything with it.

Yeah, way smaller. Even the rpi has two USB ports.

Or micro-controllers like the Arduino...

honestly just spend the money and get an aftermarket HU that will take USB/SD drives. some of them can be had for cheap.

the install itself is easy too.
