I am going with the 13TW5 in a downfiring enclosure where the spare tire is. My installer swears by boundary loading this sub for the best output. I will post pics after its installed. The enclosure will have a plexiglass window so you can see the back side of the subwoofer.

Woah - are you sure plexi will be strong enough lol... I would do 3/4'' MDF all around
|
jst curious. why cant you use the w7 in the z? If you were to havea box built using fiberglass and mdf you could defiantely get the proper airspace for the sub. There are plenty of options with less mounting depth if that is the issue.

1. fiberglass and custom enclosres=$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
2. sub is way too heavy and needs way too much power the 370 |
Image Dynamics 10 icnch Q sub FTW!! Also what kind of power were you giving that JL sub?

The enclosure is removable too but it would be extensive. And yes, it was expensive! I paid $600.00 to have it done but the amount of work and craftsmanship in it is quite extensive. |
Check out Fi Audio man:
www.ficaraudio.com Try out their Q series of subwoofer. Very high quality, SUPERIOR customer service, and they really won't break your bank (of course, not much will compared to JL lol). I would recommend Fi to anyone, anyday. Good luck man! |
I use a W6. they use the same space. True that the W7 is heavier and makes more bass than than needed for the stock system.
