I can respect anyone's hatred of a product. I'm on my second Pioneer Premier deck... at least it came with a 2 year warranty (and I had purchased via an authorized dealer). Its currently on a shelf, and I'm debating about even putting it in my new car..

What would you recommend to replace my Pioneer Premier 980BT?

Pioneer USA - CD Receivers

Must have superior Sound Quality (I really liked the auto EQ function on the pioneer), Sirius satellite radio, and preferably Ipod connectivity. (no real *need* for nav/touchscreen)

Suggestions, so I too can be DONE with pioneer?

I personally like panasonic, clarion and kenwood (alpine just doesn't have the options I like)

My 370Z head unit is the Pioneer AVIC-F700 and it is the most amazing all in one unit. The aesthetics, features and no need to watch DVD’s was the deciding factor. I have owned Alpines and Kenwoods in the past and for anyone to say that one is better than the other must have an alternative motive.

Alpine CDA-9887 all day would replace that, as I said I am done with pioneer. If you have good luck with them than by all means stay with them, this is just my choice.

Yeah, I was looking at comparing the Pioneer DEH-980BT vs the Alpine CDA-9887.

Having had an AVIC for a while (the D3) I was far from satisfied with the sound quality. The 980BT was a step in the right direction, curious if there is anything better in a different brand.

The D3 is 2 1/2 years old............that's like comparing the 350Z to the 370Z!

I have a Civic and a Z. They're both nice cars. :tup:

But yeah, from what I've heard and read (of course I don't have personal experience with this), Pioneer used to be pretty good, but recently it's been going downhill as far as quality and features to keep up with the competition.

I agree abck in the day they were probably good, but now there not even close.

haha every alpine i've had has been garbage. Have had nothing but great luck with pioneer.

And I have had the opposite.
