I highly doubt it. I have not blasted it with any heat. All I know is that it is really hot in TX and that tweeter don't really "pump" like woofers do. The solders won't melt, wires wont melt, plastic wont melt. With that said, less worries about parts drying out and cracking or whatever.

My thought on this is that alot of component sets come with that spacer or plastic surround which you could use to do a surface mount. Has anyone thought about doing a light cut out on the triangle between the door panel and the A Pillar - It's about 2 1/4" or so triangle. Removing this , cutting a template for the tweeter either flush mount or Surface mount. Thoughts? Small hole to run the wires down the door panel inside the setting of triangle flush piece.

However for on a pillars you can either do fiberglass or make some pods out of PVC caps and bolt them to the pillars.
