MirrorTap on NISMO w/ Rear Camera
I'm trying to connect a Blendmount MirrorTap to my autodimming mirror on my new 2013 Nismo with Bose. All the harness diagrams I've found on this site only show three cables on the harness connected to the mirror: with B/W, B/R, and B/Y wires. Mine is different...it has 8 or 10 wires coming out of it...two of which are B and two are R. Which one is ground and which one is +12v? Even the 2013 service manual only shows 3 wires! I think it's because I have the NISMO model, and the coupe is different?

is your mirrior the homelink w/reverse camera? if so you will have more wires than the normal 3. only way to be sure is to test them with a tester and find the right one. you want the switched 12v so the constant yellow is no good. normally the switched (at least from what i remember) is the black/red so start the test there.

I'm looking for the wiring diagram but can't find it. The option is "[N93] In-mirror RearView Monitor", anyone know where the wiring diagram or harness details would be?

You really need to get yourself a volt meter and just test each line for a switchable 12v connection. it takes all of 1 minute. you can also reference my DIY below

I did, now do I need to pull the cables out of the plug to get a voltage reading? What a pain in the *** this mirror tap

did you have the wire block plugged in when you tried to test it?
Sent from my Palm Pilot circa 1997... |
Yes and the mirror turned on fine. I'm stumped. I also can't use the multimeter because the openings in the plug are way too small.
|
double check to make sure they are all the way in, especially the ground

I used the mirrortap probes to expose each wire. Press it into the back of the harness *just* past the pressure point and you should have enough metal exposed on the tap to touch the multimeter probes to.

..so, did you guys figure it out? :)

:ugh: guess not...

Ill report back tomorrow haven't had a chance yet
