Infiniti Bass Link

Anyone have any experiences/opinions of either the basslink 1 or the basslink 2. They seem like great options for our limited space, not to mention my jlaudio w7 is too big. I mostly listen to hip hop and techno.

bigaudiofanat 08-03-2009 08:50 PM

I have installed 2 of them there not bad, but they are sloppy with the bass nothing rely tight about it. I would look for something else if you are looking for SQ. If not and just looking to add a little bass to the mix there perfect.

ddvette9 08-03-2009 09:04 PM

what do you mean sloppy. I mean the units are only like 200 bucks. Are they honstly that bad. Will it sound like crap in the 370? remember im used to a jl w7. I dont want anything special, and everything ive read says these subs have excellent quality bass

bigaudiofanat 08-03-2009 09:45 PM

I mean it is not going to be solid TIGHT bass like a sealed 10 r 12 would produce and no it will not sound bad at all. To a lot of people it sounds great to people that run big setups it is not enough for them or dose not sound right. It will sound fine in the Z.

Should i wait to add the basslink until i get an aftermarket head unit or could i run it of the factory radio somehow. currently i have some pioneer 6.5 running off the factory radio and they sound ok.

On same subject for those that have the bose/nav could these be added easily? Would it involve just running these along with the re-q that I have seen you talk about? I see these also come with a remote.

bigaudiofanat 08-03-2009 10:27 PM

The bose system has that feature that when you turn up the volume the bass will start fading out weather it be hooked up to a amp or a bass link from infinity. You need something like a MTX Re-Q in order to install it, you will need to run speaker wires from the sub output from the factory amp. For those of you that have stock non bose models you can integrate it easily just have to located the speaker wires and tap into them and run them to the level input to the infinity bass link.

you guys listen to what "bigaudiofanat" is saying. i didnt at first and im in big ****. i added a woofer and an amp to my bose system and it doesnt hit at alllllllll its soooo weak. my cuzin has the same woofer and he doesnt even put the base controler half way and it hits 10X harder then mine. your best bet would be to get rid of the whole system and build it from scratch or just get rid of the amp and the head unit and keep the stock speakers and use an after market amp for the inside speakers and the woofer. or just do what his telling you to do because i didnt and im just wasting money left to right for no reason.

Sorry to hear that, but couldnt you do just as he is saying and buy the MTX RE-Q or the JL Audio Cleansweep and add it to your current setup and you should be good from the way I understand everything should be easy fix but you will have to shell out more money

yeah but the head unit and the stock amp are really crappy so you need to upgrade those as well.

Did you have the HU w navi or the other? I thought only the amp that controlled the fading that we are concerned about?

tranceformer 08-04-2009 08:28 AM

I had a basslink in my 350z, I can't complain too much about it. Used for about 3 years.

Pro's
decent bass
all-in-one sub + amp
fairly compact
decent price

Con's
could be better

Overall does what it's supposed to do: decent bass for a decent price, all in one amp and subwoofer assembly.

bigaudiofanat 08-04-2009 08:41 AM

Thanks armensti for clarifying that I know what I am saying. Asheth, yes you are correct you can use the MTX RE-Q ior JL clean sweep and install a new sub and amp. The only thing is if you look at how much you are spending for all that you midous will start from scratch.

Any BOSE system will have the fading out I am not sure about the nav setup.

Asheth 08-04-2009 12:40 PM

Seems this is the only way to go if you have the stock navi. Wonder if anyone has that setup already in there Z.
