Does anyone know the impedance of the factory tweeter? or woofer? Bose or non-Bose? I know that in the past some Bose systems had something like 2 ohm speakers in them. If you were to replace them with a standard 4 ohm speaker you would have less output.

I have the non-Bose stereo, so I'm assuming my speakers are 4 ohm, but I'm not sure.

2 ohms for bose I believe 8 ohms for the base. You can not hook up the 2 ohm speakers to a new head unit as it will urn it up. My recommendation would be to get new speakers anyway if you are upgrading.

Good to know that 1" (probably max size I would think) will fit in the dash. Thanks again bigaudiofanat for another great tip.

So I'm not quite following and wanted to make sure, is there an off the shelf solution for replacing the dash speakers?

Not really those are tweeters and usually replaced along with the speakers in the doors as a set called components and with the bose system it is not something you can just replace.

Understood... I guess most of the components that I've seen have seemingly self inclosed tweeters rather than something that would mount under that factory cover on the dash.

If you need the actual dimensions (cutout) and overall, I can go measure my old ones for you.. I use a set of CDT ES-02's in mine.......Drop right in, and factory grill snaps right back on..

Why is it no one ever takes pics of either the stock drivers (dash and door) and stock locations (dash and door).

Descriptions usually suck because they typically conflict with others descriptions of the same thing.

Sure, there's pics of new drivers in those locations, but never any of the stock drivers.
