nissan stock stereo or touring(bose)?
Hey guys just wanted your opinion on the stereo system for the 370z,
how big of a difference is it between the stock stereo system vs. the bose package that comes with the touring package? Also, are there any other sound system alternatives that could be better than the bose system that comes with the touring package? |

I am happy with my Bose. I do not know what others are looking for. I never want bleeding ear drums so perhaps this is why folks don't like it. I am not as sophisticated as the unhappy folks.

I could not believe my $33K car came with such a basic headunit with no real features.
I am sure the Bose is a lot nicer, but I just swapped head units to add rear view camera. |

I like my Bose system. I usually swear by Bose for all my other electronics at home. Surround sound systems, outdoor speakers, etc. I find that the clarity is pretty good and their built with quality. I don't know nearly as much about car audio but the Z's Bose system serves my needs just fine.
P.S. Keep in mind that I don't really like my music crazy loud or heavy bass. I'm more of a clarity/sound quality kinda guy.

I know I mentioned this on another thread but I will say it again. I have a Touring with the Bose system and it is the best stereo system I have ever heard in any car that I have owned or have been in. I'm sure you could get a better after market stereo but unless you absolutely need the bass so deafening that it will rattle the license plates off their brackets, I think it is really not necessary. Yes I am one of the "older" members in this forum but I am not hard of hearing and am actually a musician so I think I know sound. Though I don't listen to the bass jarring sounds of today's Rap, I do love to listen to live classic rock performances backed by an orchestra such as Elton John in Australia and Sting in Berlin. One of my favorites is listening to Billy Joel's live performance in New York at Shea Stadium. I can't imagine a sound better than the bose system in my Touring while listening to that. For me, the Bose system is awesome.

Bose sucks. Base is worse...
AFTERMARKET I personally prefer a full range sound and capability that most market stereos can't produce. the g37s bose, is awesome. The z bose sounds like the rds system with a sub. The Z is better suited with aftermarket stereo and recaro seats.

I like my Bose/Navi system, is it good as something that BAF could put in by completely disassembling my entire interior/doors and rewiring every square inch from stem to stern and then putting it all back together clip by clip and screw by screw? Definitely not. But it's a hell of a lot easier to just leave the interior of the car alone and enjoy it for what it is. We took our Klippel system and curved the frequency response in the drivers position and it's actually quite decent for a car. For what it's worth it's actually the best sounding stock stereo I've ever heard in a car. Sure I'd like a larger sub but again, do I want to tear my entire car apart to get one? Nope, it ain't worth it. Besides, it's nice to just own a car for once and leave it alone audio wise.

Factory Bose is pretty good after I upgraded the deck to a kenwood ddx370. Although I do want more sound in the future....it will do for now and I agree the little sub feels the cabin quite nicely.

Bose audio systems are worthless. I have seen a set of 200 dollar speakers powered by a aftermarket head unit kick their ***.
