[Help] Which wire to tap for full range signal?
http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/820/ydb.png
Looking at the plug, anybody knows which wire to tap the LC2i in for full range low level signal? I guess the "Signal Front Speakers". I don't know if rear instead of front will make any difference. The plug has signal for tweeter as well so kinda confusing. BTW, this is plug that goes between the Bose HU and Bose Amp. Thanks |
what are you trying to do? that might help with the answer...
|
"to tap in the LC2i". LC2i is an active line-in converter by AudioControl. Doing so allows me to connect my amp via RCA cable.
|
The manual for the LC2i does not list a "low level" input.

So back to original question. Does anybody have a clue? Thanks |
You can't take it from the Low Level full range signal without introducing some nasty engine noise. The easy way to do it is taking the High Level Speaker out and summing the signal.
One thing I've been wanting to try but haven't got around to yet is splitting the full range low level signal while keeping it connected to the Bose AMP and splitting off into an RCA plug. The Bose AMP works with the bose headunit using a Balanced signal and cancels out the noise. I'm hoping by splitting and not completely disconnecting it will keep the noise out but I don't know if it will work. So unless you want to try that and see if it works you cannot take a clean low level "full range" signal without introducing some horrible engine noise. Anyhow to answer you question here's the Low Level wires- They aren't like speaker wire they are shielded and with the negative and positive twisted together much like RCA line without the rca plug. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...psc7c4c2f2.jpg |
All that being said, What I would do is spend a couple extra $ and get the LC6 and run your speaker level in AFTER the bose amp. You end up with 4 or 6 output channels to do with as you please. But again, we don't know exactly what you are trying to do with the system after the conversion to RCA......Sub, components, one amp, 2 amp, ect, ect, ect. That information will help lead you down the right road.

Thank you all for the great info and I have decided to get the LC7i. :tiphat:

I found this thread because I have the same question - are the front outputs from the HU really full range? Because when I turn the bass up or down on the HU it affects the bass coming from the HU low level output signal. |
