Default Ordered Switched Bypass Kit 2010+

I opted for the switch since its only wires and a relay and didn't have the complexity of a remote (which I could easily loose) or using external power for a receiver.

Do I need to pry off the buttons on my radio to remove it?

When routing the wires do I need to secure them with twist ties or anything?

Ok. My first question is, WTF are you talking about?

Second is, why start a new thread on the same topic that you started before?

i think he's talking about the nav/dvd bypass circuit so he can run it while driving.

he doesn't want the automatic one that has a built-in delay relay. he wants a mechanical spst sw, i think...

not sure about the "prying off the buttons to remove it" part though...

You can just interrupt the remote blue wire of the circuit bypass and add a switch. Other than that I have no idea what he is talking about.

Default Bypass Kit (switch) - Car Kit Company

I have a couple of questions. I am new at this. The instructions never mentioned disconnecting the battery. Should I do that? I don't want to deploy and air bag or something crazy.

It became obvious from other threads removing the gear shift knob for an M6 is not easily done; I will work around that. Everything else looks straight forward except where to rout the wires to the switch itself by the cup holder.

So I can take some pride and be able to remove this at anytime I am opting to do it myself. Is there anything I need to be careful about besides keeping track of a few dozen screws?

It never hurts to disconnect the battery when you're working with wiring.

Default Swapped to the Switch Version

I swapped the remote kit for the switched version. Now that the threads are combined into a one you can see the gaps. I had little time to review my posts at work.

The switched version of the Bypass Switch came with detailed colored instructions printed out.

Default Done

I installed it myself. Not rocket science but you had to get everything off to get behind the Navigation Unit. The plug and play was idiot proof. Its very handy to have all the controls available when you drive esp the backup camera.

Default Easy install

I just finished up installing the switched override harness along with the harness to incorporate a camera into the factory nav display. Both were very well put together and the instructions included were great. The ease of installation (plug-n-play) and no need to hack/cut/solder the factory harnesses is exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommended.
