I'm not sure where that connector diagram previously posted came from but my vehicle side harness, and the service manual I was using, didn't have pin 18. Fair warning to all out there, Amazon is still selling bum connectors.
It's not amazon's fault bud, the pins are different in your Z than others. This needs to be addressed by metra not amazon.

I wasn't implying that it was Amazon's fault, merely that they're selling the harnesses that aren't specifically labeled or flagged for incompatibility with some 370z models.

Part of the way through installing a Kenwood into my 2014 base Z. Can someone confirm that this looks right as far as moving the pins around & getting the ASWC-1 wires in the correct place. I assume pin 8 isn't used? Also, for the people who have successfully moved these pins, what are you using the get them out of the harness? I've tried two eyeglass screwdrivers, multiple sewing needles, a paper clip; nothing seems to work.

Using a tiny screwdriver helps but it was mostly force that got mine out. One or two had bent retainers when they came out but you can carefully bend them back and they should be OK. The best way is a proprietary pin remover specific to that type of connector but I have no idea on the details for that. You could also get a second connector and cut it up for the pins.

if you look in the front of the connectorthere is a tiny rectangular slot above each wire make sure when you shove the paper clip in to the back to release the plastic tab that you can see the end of the paper clip in that slot then slide the wire and paper clip out together. that or take it to radio shack and get them to find you a depinner that fits

I have a friend whose dad is a dentist. He hooked me up with a couple dental instruments that were broken on one end & of no more use to him. Using those to poke at the holes in the connector & a healthy dose of brute force, the pins came out. Got everything hooked up last night, but the ASWC-1 was giving me fits. Came in after work this afternoon and finally got the steering wheel controls working after about 45 minutes of fiddling. Everything's working perfectly now!

I tried with a paper clip today and it didn't work. I had a kit of sewing needles from a friend and took a needle that did fit and poked it in with a pair of pliers. Once in I was able to tug on the wire and the pin came out.

I have a 2013 base (got it in sept 2012) and the harness looks like the old 370z
