As stated earlier it could be early 2013 models used the older style. However in this instance it was not the same.

So was the harness in the OP the wrong one?

It was the correct one as specified by metra however most pins were in the in correct spots to corilate to the factory harness.

Same here on my Base 2013, i supplied my installer
with the metra harness model 70-7552, no problems.
Headunit, door speakers/tweeters, and metra kit for steering wheel controls.

Used the same items as the earlier 370z models.

took about 2.5 hrs to complete.

Never blamed anyone just a fair warning to what I have ran into.

I just finished an install on my 2013 as well. I got the metra harness and just removed the rear speaker pins and placed them in the spots needed for the steering wheel controls. Took me all of 10 minutes. I noticed you went with rear speakers so yeah you would of needed 2. As for the speakers, you are correct, You have to go through a solid grommet.

So for those not using rear speakers, get the metra or scosche harness and just remove the rear speaker pins from the harness and place them into slots to connect pins shown in the attached diagram. You can use a small eyeglass screwdriver to remove the pins, just insert it into the hole above the pin (when looking into the connector) this will give you a clean install with no factory wires being cut. As for ground, just run a line and create your own.

Pioneer x5500bhs and Pioneer components installed

silly question, in the diagram of the pin #'s is that as you are looking into the harness or is that from the wire side? i think it is looking into the harness at the pins because that matches the 7552. if that is the wire side of the OEM harness that would be a good match as well.

maybe i am just over thinking it.

well, thanks to the diagram and all the topics mentioned my install went perfect, no issues at all. even got it all back together just as it started to thunder and pour down rain.

I actually removed my pioneer double din out of a 2011 WRX and it plugged right into my 2013 Base. All the audio seems to work with no issue as does illumination.

The OP stated that all the wires had changed, implying the SWC wires as well. The wiring diagram a few posts down indicates the SWC wires are still 6 and 16 just like before.

Is this correct?

I can't get my Axxess to work even though I've tapped into 6 and 16.

did you ground 15? i made sure i moved one of the rear speaker pins to the 15 slot then grounded it with the radio ground.

Yes, 15 is grounded. I have it running to the back of my radio harness then up to the body ground. It's basically a 3-way splice.

When I try to program the Axxess (holding Up arrow after reset), instead of going to a solid Red mode, it goes solid Green. At this point the radio starts going beeping constantly as though the SWC is sending a non-stop signal.

I can't get it to work and it's driving me crazy.

What brand head unit are you running?

Zteve 08-18-2013 07:45 AM

i had to do the manual programming steps and that worked for all buttons.

I had the same experience with Metra when i told the guy that the wiring harness had changed. He was rude and basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I ended up cursing him the f*** out and returning the Axxess to Amazon.

Zteve 09-02-2013 08:53 AM

from the metra harness i got from crutchfield with my stereo, there is nothing wrong with that harness and the 2013 base vehicle harness matching. they basically plugged right up and function correctly. the only pins i removed were the rear speakers since i do not have those and used them for the axxess steering wheel control as mentioned earlier in this thread. i also got my axxess from amazon, wired it according to the diagram, did the manual programming, and all buttons work perfectly.

I just ran into the same problem as the OP with my Alpine head unit install this weekend. I had to rearrange the pins as previously suggested to make my Metra wire harness work. I'm not sure where that connector diagram previously posted came from but my vehicle side harness, and the service manual I was using, didn't have pin 18. Fair warning to all out there, Amazon is still selling bum connectors.

my nismo '13 install had no issues other than those dang car side wires for the car side harness being so damn small for tapping when connecting the ASWC. i do have the bose system though
