The parking brake wire is a safety feature so when you take off your parking brake (so you can drive) you wont be able to watch the movie/video. I hooked the parking brake wire to a good ground so i can play music videos while i drive. and so my kid can watch his cartoons

"Just don't drive and play a movie"

No need to connect it back the the parking brake.

You do not have to but if you ever want to watch movies you need to connect it. Or a lot of them you can just ground the wire and just choose to see it or not while you drive.

This wire you ground, is it the same one that makes the red "BRAKE" dummy light come on? Or is this a separate switch?

as for me i bought a on/off switch and connect the green parking wire to one side of the switch and the other side of the switch i connect to a metal to ground it. so far everything works fine for me.
