Default One of the front speakers will cut out when listening on AUX

So one of the two front speakers will cut out occasionally while playing music through the auxiliary port (headphone jack). I.e. if I change the "Balance" setting to "L5" when the left speaker isn't playing or "R5" when the isn't playing I can't hear anything. They have yet to both cut out at the same time. It used to only be the right speaker but the left one has done it a couple time too.

Strangely enough pressing the RPT button will fix it, sometimes... Pressing that button has also made the sound cut out entirely once. I thought the repeat button only worked on CDs.

Switching to AM-FM while this is happening still works, but when I switch back to AUX I still won't hear one of the speakers.

I thought it was maybe my phone, but it happened with my girlfriend's phone too. I even bought a new cable.

Any ideas?

This is the Bose system, no nav.

TLDR: Left or Right speaker will cut out on AUX only. Tried new cable. Tried other phone. RPT button sometimes fixes it
