Sub'd for review. :tiphat: Nice looking install. What app are you using there for your gps? |
Oh yeah, how's the PAC working for your steering controls?
|
I use google maps. The PAC is working just fine ;)

Wondering how this thing will fit in the base radio enclosure. I'm looking for something that fits pretty flush. If I have to buy the whole center stack face, then I guess that would be ok as long as it looks like it belongs in the car.
Also - would the regular appradio3 work ok with the base model as far as not having 4v outs? And I guess it's time to google to see if the AR3 does bluetooth streaming. That is a must have for me for sheer convenience. DashCommand looks solid. I really want to have that capability. Did you have to do anything wiring wise to get to OBDII? Or do you have to drive around with a PLX plugged into the port all the time? |

I use an ELM327 and a dashcommand-like app. Works well, but the reader has to stay plugged in. |

What dash mount kit did you use? It looks like it could use a trim kit to make it look a wee bit cleaner.

i mentioned this a few times, but if anyone's interested, you can make your own gasket to close up that gap using black hard felt. most art stores carry it, or you can buy them online. the one i use, product name is EZ Felt.
you can use a sharp knife and a ruler to cut the hard felt to size. ive been using this product for over 10-15yrs. :D i have no gap on my HU install with factory trim. |
also a good idea to completely remove the thin gasket on the factory trim around the HU opening while you're doing the work. you can remove the adhesive using motor spray.
