Door Speaker Install

Installed 6.5" speakers in my doors. Noticed the opening is bigger than a 6.5 and I was only able to mount 2 screws. Are there any adapters for this?

Which speakers did you install> A lot of times you can screw directly into the plastic of the holder. If you want to just use the factory holes, but the z enclosure spacer rings or make a set yourself out of MDF than attach the speaker to that.

MTX 6.5 inch. I drilled 2 holes into the plastic enclosure that attaches to the door but the opening was to big to mount all 4 tabs. What are the Z enclosure spacer rings?

Is Zenclosures still even in business? I don't see Any activity here on the forum for quite some time, and I've often wondered about ordering from them as I see they still have a presence on eBay.

Hmm I am not sure. OP here is a plastic version of that spacer.

PVC Speaker Adapters - CNC Machined - In Stock or Custom Made

Or like what was said, you can go on ebay.

I need to get some of that ABS plastic for my tweeters, but it's hard to find in stores like Lowes/HD. I go in and ask for "ABS Plastic" and get  looks.

It does not have to be, they will fit the Z. If you need/want the description to say 370z, head to ebay and snag a set.

Cool!

I have a 2x 10" L7 upfire enclosure in my Z. And I've debated on just getting a single as one of the subs isn't working. No use having a paperweight right?

It's either that, or replace both + amp with newer models. :icon17:

You can't see it under the grill...at least i couldn't when i looked. I would never use a cardboard box for my sub since i would be showing that off (and it would sound nasty!). No one is ever gonna be like "hey pop off those tweeter grills so we can look at that sweet mount you got goin on under there!" :shakes head:

but to each is own. :tiphat:
