Default Upgrading stock Subs - wiring question

Hey guys,

I have an amp and 2 10" subs that I took out of my 350z for my 370z... I had a 7" lcd in my old car so I was using RCAs but now I'll be hooking the amp up via high level inputs from the stock amp/subs...

I noticed the amp is in the same area as the subs and there are 6 wires in the connector...

Does anybody know which wires are which? eg. trigger, power, earth, output etc.

cheers!!

If you are trying to install those subs and use the stock amp, do not you will burn up the amp with the ohms that the subs will carry. It may not even support one sub depending on the ohms rating.

Hey, nah I have a seperate amp that I was using for the 2 subs which I was going to try and connect via high level input. Was just trying to figure out which wires were which in the stock connector which plugs into the stock black enclosure.

Well even than it is not going to work well, as I posted in another thread when you start turning the volume up the bose amp starts fading out stuff so you can set your gains and all and it will sound great at say 12 but when you turn it up your sub is going to sound like you have the bass way down, it is just not going to be that easy for you. You are going to need somthing like the JL clean sweep or a cheaper option the MTX RE-Q to remover all the eq stuff that the bose dose to the volume and sound.

Excellent, thanks for your help dude. I checked ebay and can pick up the mtx re-q for about 100AUD so I'm happy to spend that for the system

So I'm guessing that just goes in line with the stock wiring, and also has a low pass filter too so it should work pretty nicely.

Would you have any idea which coloured wires do what in the harness?

thanks again dude!

I am not sure which ones that you are going to tap into, if you have the time take a look at a repair manual for you z it should tell you in the wiring diagram section which 2 are the sub. The REQ will act as a low pass filter but it will also keep the level normal as the volume goes up. Good luck man let me know if you need more help.
