Amazing Fact about Touring Bose brain box

It's 4,850.00 to replace!
Mine is OK but I was just reading the forum thinking how some folks wanted to replace it with another head unit and other folks wanted to add the piece to their standard or mid grade model and started wondering how much that piece would cost.
Freaking amazing. Has anyone ever heard of one failing?
The cause for my concern is that there is a HDD (Hard disc drive) contained in the system and we all know with those it's not a question of if, but when. :0

Sad part is, if your talking about the bose with nav system. You can NOT replace it with a aftermarket head unit. Bose systems I have seen and read about them failing over and over again no matter what vehicle they are in. Bose blows!

True that you cannot replace it with aftermarket but to say that if fails over and over again....... is not entirely accurate. May be an opinion but not agreeing it is fact. Based on my experience, I find it very reliable. Have one on each Nissan/Infiniti vehicles I own.

Yes my OP was just an observation about the price, with an aside of people occasionally wanting to mess with it. I am glad there are no posts here about failures of the radio (like the SWL & the CSC), etc. of a chronic nature.

I am not saying they fail over and over again after being replaced/fixed. However I have pulled many bose systems out of Nissan, infiniti, and others that have failed (Non-nav). Here are just two after a quick search, I have read countless articles and threads about them failing as well.
