Installed custom 8" sub box
Just got finished installing these 2 8"JBL subs in my Z.
All done and no trunk space taken up. I had previously installed a single 10 inch sub, and the only reason I changed to 2 8 inch subs was to save trunk space. After I fired up the stereo I was surprised how much bass these little subs put out. I could not be happier with this set up. Let me know what you guys think about how they look in the car.

They look fantastic!
1. They fit perfectly, the right dimension drivers and who needs more than 2 8" drivers approx. equivalent to 1 16" in a tiny cabin like ours. 2. They are stealth. 3. Two drivers are twice as loud as one given the same input, so you definitely have a lot of thump. So How did you build the box? What was your method of install? Please tell me you made pics of the process, or at least a few of the box outside the car. Thanks for the post! |

Thanks! I actually didn't take any pictures. The first box that I made I took a bunch of pictures and posted. This one I was so excited to get done with that I didn't take any.
I didn't know how I was going to make it I debated doing a fiberglass enclosure, but then I decided to just make it out of MDF board. I pretty much just started with the bottom of the box and made pieces out of cardboard to make sure that they were the perfect fit before cutting the wood. I have a lot of extra wood left and could make another one for someone if they are interested in this set up, and then I could take a bunch of pics to show everyone how I made it.

Thanks! I have it mounted by the spare tire. Here was my first build where I made enclosure for a 10 inch sub and it shows where I placed the amp.

Sub Box
I did a sub box out of composite fiberglass that housed on 8" sub, amp rack, and signal processor. The sub box located in the same space, weighs in at 8 lbs. without the sub, amp, or signal processor. I made a speaker grill cover for a stealth finsihed look.

hey mate, what are the dimensions of the box underneath? There isnt much room without building an odd shaped box.
I have the Bose audio so i'll need to extend the loom and relocate the amp. My current box is 416 x 185 x 150mm but each JBL 8" requires 8.5 litres of volume..... Kudos for the neat install |
