In Dash Nav

So Ive been missing having Nav since I got my Z, and I think I've settled on the Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH. 7" Screen that seems to have everything for $650 seems like my best deal, unless you all would recommend anything else.

My question is, I have a 40th so I have Bose, so beyond the dash kit, what else will I need to retain steering wheel controls and use of the stock speakers?

Is there a recommended PnP wiring harness?

Can I use the stock XM antenna and adapter or will I need a new one from pioneer?

Can anyone suggest a back up cam that would work well with this HU?

Thanks!

You need to check out the "What to Know if you have Bose" sticky.

You will need (I suggest) the Axxess AWSC. I also suggest you order the bypass from Amazon.com.

Here's a good DIY for install:

I like my Z140BH, had it since they were released with next to no issues. Its a good all around HU, and the Ipod control it does is awesome.

Thanks man good to hear! I dont use an iPod so I'm not too worried about that interface, but good to know. Do you have a back up camera?

If you go with that unit, I'd definitely suggest a backup camera. Get the Nissan Livia one from ebay. They're all cheap- check the output picture on each one and make sure it's the type you like, though, as far as the bars/measurment overlay, etc.

If I were you, I would wire it up to switched power off of the reverse light and tie that into the reverse gear sense wire that will come off of the head unit. There will be a menu in the deck to change the sense type for the reverse camera so that you can make it switch automatically to the camera every time you go into reverse gear.

Honestly it's the thing I miss the most after uninstalling the whole system.

I do not, always wanted one... just couldn't be bothered to find the time to order and install one.

My 2 cents--skip the Pioneer cam and order the cheap Livia model from Ebay. Not only is it significantly cheaper, but instead of a little black box stuck on the back somewhere you will get a nice clean install that does not look like an add-on. The Pioneer may be better in low light, but to me that was a small concession for the stealth of the Ebay cam.

I posted some pics in another thread to show the image quality of the one I installed. http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/6...ml#post2144287
